THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITNG FOR

Bizarro Curt Price (R) <----NOT ME!!...was running for congress down in Florida's 19th district...and the election results are in!! (can you feel the excitement?!?!)
(By the way, I never heard back from any of those folks who wanted to give me money because they thought I was the same Curt Price running for Congress. Nor did I receive any checks in the mail. It's a shame too. I could have bought a nice fouton or maybe even something cooler than that...which would be pretty hard to do since foutons are pretty much the coolest things ever.)
And while we're on the topic, why on earth these people think that I am the same Curt Price that was running for congress is beyond me. I live in a different state. Nowhere on my website does it say I am running for Congress. And I have actually posted comments about how I hope bizarro Curt Price loses because I didn't want to hear about "Reagan Conservative, Curt Price" in the news every now and again. Yet these people ask me if they can donate money...to me...*sigh* and they are apparently allowed to vote as well. God help them if it's a butterfly ballot.
Anyway, in a shocker (not), the primary results are in, and Mr. Price was indeed the biggest loser.
Here are the election results:
Election Results
Bizarro Curt Price received the least votes of any candidate running for either party...a paltry 1,574 votes out of 36,324 votes cast across 351 precincts...which ends up being 4% of the overall vote. He didn't even get 4.5 votes per precinct...yeee-ouch. I understand that he was only trying to win the Republican nomination, and he did get 19% of the Republican votes (woo! hoo!...I guess), but it's clear he would have been stomped in the actual election had he won the primary...because Democrats rule.
So, the election is over and Curt Price lost. I went to his website to see what he had to say about the defeat, becuase, you know...I was genuinely concerned...but his website was taken down and only this message remained: "Thank you for all your support."
Wow. Um...that's it? That's all you have to say? No letter to your people? No transcript of a speech? People donated him money, you'd think he would show his appreciation after the fact. And really, not only does he take money from people, but he took money from the same people who wanted to give money to me...and that pretty much means he's stealing from me, but my bank account isn't missing any money...DAMN HE'S GOOD!!
Maybe he should have talked about the experience, if he'll run again, or what he'll do next...instead of "See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya." Those folks in his campaign worked really hard, they deserve more...or maybe they didn't and don't, since he did lose pretty bad.
So I decided to check out his facebook page and see what he said there. Surely he will speak to his sheep there after this rough defeat. That's what all great leaders do, right?
His last message on Facebook was this: "Election Day today! Thank you all for the great support I've received during the campaign." And that was it. No more messages after that. Prior to election day, he posted all kinds of things...but after electionday...it was all crickets.
I guess it was a wham, bam, thank you ma'am kind of thing.
By the way...the Curt Price in Illinois is on a winning volleyball team, won his fantasy footall league, came in 1st place in our last poker tournament, just built a new house, has a beautiful wife and an amazing 5 month old daughter.
Hmmm....I think I am using up all of the good luck that is out there for guys named Curt Price! ...but then again, I am thirsty, and my water cup is all the way downstairs...
